Christian Chavez was born in McAllen, Texas, US, and grew up in Mexico City. Thus began his experience of transcending borders artistically, and in terms of sexuality and gender. An actor and singer from an early age, he found international success with the telenovela, “Rebelde”, and the group, RBD, selling over 20 million albums worldwide. Christian was outed by the media and endured harsh criticism for his sexuality. He persisted, with a stronger sense of himself and his sexuality and better prepared to meet new artistic challenges. He continued to pursue performance opportunities and was recently featured in the Netflix series, “La Casa De Las Flores”. The recent RBD reunion tour was a global phenomenon and an opportunity for Christian to raise his voice artistically and personally. He’s used his platform to show the world he’s fearless and unashamed about who he is and to advance LGBTQ rights and representation.
