Richard has worked in HIV and STIs for more than 30 years. His research interests focus on the interactions between HIV, HPV and cancer, including the evaluation of vaccines and HPV-associated cancer screening strategies. He is a past President of the Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Immediate Past President of the International Anal Neoplasia Society. He served as Course Director of the Master’s programme in HIV, STIs & Sexual Health at the University of Sydney for 15 years. He is Chief Clinical Investigator of a number of trials investigating the natural history, screening technologies and treatment of HPV-associated cancers.
