What inspires you to work in the HIV field?
I witnessed firsthand the impacts of the burden of HIV in my local community, including mortalities and co-morbidities. This spurred me to get involved in the prevention, care and treatment continuum. More specifically, I have seen how empirical evidence influences policies and management guidelines for care and treatment and have continued to contribute to the field.
What are your goals as an IAS change maker?
I desire to continue to make an impact and advance evidence-based care and treatment practices in the management of HIV through innovation, collaboration and commitment. I also want to contribute to the search for a cure and a vaccine through research. Additionally, it is my desire to serve as a mentor to upcoming scientists and advocates for HIV regionally in Africa and globally. I believe that together we can achieve more.
