An initiative of the IAS – the International AIDS Society, the two-year Mark Wainberg Fellowship Programme provides expert training in medical management of people living with HIV, with focus on appropriate care for various client groups, including key populations. Selected clinicians from the African continent spend one year in Europe and one year in Africa at clinical institutions with the aim of contributing to improved HIV service delivery in Africa. Mark Wainberg, a Past President of the IAS, was a pioneer for HIV research, advocacy and science.Applications are now closed.

Asia and the Pacific
The two-year programme is an initiative of the IAS Educational Fund and builds on its success in Africa. It will provide expert training in medical management of people living with HIV, from diagnosis to treatment and including co-morbidities. It will focus particularly on appropriate care for various client groups, including key populations, aiming to contribute to improving HIV service delivery in Asia and the Pacific. The selected clinicians will spend one year at a clinical institution in the region and one year completing a research project.Applications are now closed.
